Some will be aware, but perhaps some new secretaries will not, that AOCRA South Queensland Zone can assist you with a cash grant of up to $1,000:00 to promote Outrigging in your region & to assist in gaining club members by having 'Come & Try Events.
"Come & Try Funding - up to $1,000 per club is available to promote and host come and try days. Eligible expenses are: advertising, printed material & food/drinks/catering but NOT equipment such as paddles or pfd's.
If you have held a 'Come & Try' between December 2015 to April 2016 and you have not yet claimed for a grant, & you can produce proof of expenditure in running the event, let us know now & SQZ can assist you with the costs. We would like to hear results that have come from holding the events(s) such as attendance, follow through & hopefully new members attracted.
For budgeting purposess we would also like to hear from you if you intend to run any 'Come & Try' events between now & December 2016.
These events, & any newspaper promotions, are well worth the time & effort. My club at Noosa has grown from 80 members to 143 in just over 3 years, with regular 'Come & Try' events & as much self promotion as possible in the Local Newspapers. Do the sums! New members = new income = new equipment = new paddlers on the water & new growth for Outrigging.
Well worth the effort.
We look forward to hearing from all clubs soon.
