Dear Members,
The nature of our sport means that, at times, incidents may occur that impact our health or that of a fellow paddler.
These events can have both immediate and long-term effects on those directly involved, as well as their families, crewmates, club mates, event officials, first responders, and witnesses.
As a paddling community, it's important that we support one another during such times. AOCRA is committed to providing assistance to our members and their families following an accident or medical emergency.
To help guide you through these situations, we have made available a series of helpful fact sheets and resources.
Please remember that everyone reacts differently. Some may appear strong at first but become overwhelmed later, while others may need immediate support. Be there for each other—you never know when the roles might reverse.

Give Yourself Time
Recognise that you've experienced a highly stressful event. Allow yourself the time and space to process it. It’s natural to feel emotional—give yourself permission to feel that way, but remember that you can and will cope.
