Winter Series Race 2 2019

Join Hurricane Paddling Crew as they host an actioned packed day of mixed racing relays. With the National marathon titles coming up in November. OC1s and OC2 events will be the main focus of this race.

All 3 events for the day will be mixed gender races focusing primarily on OC1, V1 and OC2.

 

 

Race 1 – Mixed OC1/V1 Relay (4km each leg)

Leg 1 – Women

Leg 2 – Men

Leg 3 – Women

Leg 4 – Men

 

Teams made up of 2 men and 2 women will alternate with in their team mates on their single craft to complete 4 legs of 4km. Each club can enter multiple teams of 4 are to use one craft per team for the race. Each boat change will require the racer to exit their craft and run up the beach to tag their next team mate. Teams of 1 man and 1 woman may compete and race 2 legs each.

 

Race 2 – Mixed OC2 Relay (4km each leg)

Teams made up of 4 men and 4 women will alternate with in their team mates on their double craft to complete 4 legs of 4km. Each club can enter multiple mixed teams of 8 (or variations of) are to use one craft per team for the race. Each boat change will require the racers to exit their craft and run up the beach to tag their next team mates. Teams of fewer racers may enter as long as each leg is competed in by 1 man and 1 woman and the racers exit the canoe and run up the beach before commencing the next leg.

 

 

Race 3 OC6 250m Match sprint

Teams of (minimum) 3 ladies and 3 men will compete head to head in a 250m sprint.

Each round of racing will consist of 2 OC6s supplied by Hurricane and finals will be decided on times.
